We began our periplus in 1995, in that epoch we were named "666 ASTAROTH" we used to play a quiet rude old school Death Metal Our line up was Ivan(drums), Alfon(guitar), Rafa (guitar), Aitor (bass), Aston (vocals). Then we changed our style, with more melody and including Black Metal and Doom parts, so we decided to change our name and became finally SUFFERING DOWN .

In the spring of 1997, patxi (Eöl, now he plays with NUMEN and ELFFOR too) passed to be a part of the project, this was an important fact for the group and the music of the band managed to a more harmonious and symphonic sound, and we started to play some gigs out of our country side.

2000 is the year in which we edited our first studio work, called "Suffering Down", it was a MCD that got very good reviewals and was wellcomed by the audience in our concerts.

One year later in 2001, Aitor had to leave the band because of some problems of health and Josu from ODD HEATHENISH (nowdays in both groups) took his place as bass player.

Our second recording was published in 2002, "Misanthropic and nihilist Dharma", a full-lenght Digi CD with 15 songs,60 minutes of music that defined our own sound and took us to play to some new places.

In 2004 recorded our third work "Massive genocide, collective suicide...hurting katharsis", and we can say that is the restatement of sound, our style, our music...

In the winter of 2006, Rafa decided leaving the group for personal motives and we thought carry on like quintet.

Now we are hardly preparing our new work and trying to improve our latest themes to record them.
